Join Reinier in a journey though the roots of Cuban dancing – and discover the background of Rumba and the most prominent Afrocuban dances of the Yoruba tradition and more.

Dennis will teach the first 4 classes of the season while Reiner is traveling. In these lessons you can expect to get more details about the history and meaning behind the dance, and moreover you will learn how to incorporate afro and rumba steps in your salsa, with both practical and theoretical lessons.

ATTEND THESE CLASSES, IF YOU:
✓ Are curious about the roots of Salsa and Cuban folklore, and want to explore new ways of moving to enrich your understanding of dancing.
✓ Want to improve your overall knowledge of latin dancing and learn techniques to improve your body movement and coordination.
✓ Salsa dancing experience: from 6/9 months and up. We strongly recommend you being already comfortable with solo salsa dancing – maybe you already took a solo course in the past.

IN THESE CLASSES YOU WILL LEARN:
✧ Foundations and principles of movements, rhythms, meaning and steps of the main Afrocuban dances.
✧ Understand the different styles of Rumba, like Columbia and Guaguanco, and how to dance them.
✧ How to incorporate the steps you learned in your Salsa dancing practice.

WHEN: Wednesdays, 19.40-20.40. From August 16th to October 11th, 2023.
WHERE: CSA studio – Room 1, Kastanie Alle 20 (1st floor), 2720 Vanløse.
INSTRUCTOR: Reinier Leme. Note: due to traveling, Dennis will teach the first 4 classes of the season instead.
