SALSA CLASSES COPENHAGEN

We are dancing in a easy-to-follow tempo and we will guide you through each move step-by-step in our stress-free & friendly learning environment! No partner needed and no previous experience in salsa or other dance is required, only a desire to learn and having fun!

IN THESE CLASSES YOU WILL LEARN:
✧ The basics calls of cuban salsa.
✧ Fundamental partnering techniques and roles.
✧ Understanding of salsa timing and rhythm, as well as posture, turns and more.
✧ The salsa basic steps and turns.

WHERE TO NEXT?
Take the level 1 class more than once, and work on details with your basics. If you can lead/follow the moves taught in this class with ease and good technique, you are ready for the level 2 class! Many also take both levels 1 and 2, to get more repetition while learning something new. Try also social dancing: it is a great learning experience and lots of fun!

ATTEND THESE CLASSES, IF YOU:
✓  Are familiar with: Dile Que No, Enchufla, Dame Una, Vuelta (particularly for leaders).
✓  Understand salsa timing and basics.
✓  Salsa dancing experience: min. 2 months. You have completed at least one beginner’s course, and/or dance at social parties.

IN THESE CLASSES YOU WILL LEARN:
✧ All the most common combinations and calls in Cuban Salsa.
✧ Basic footwork and body movement.
✧ Musicality and leading/following techniques.

HOW LONG SHOULD I STAY IN THIS LEVEL?
We recommend to move on to level 3 only if you master the combinations and leading techniques from this course: they are the base for everything you will learn in the higher levels. Feel free to take this course 2 or more times. If you are unsure, ask your teachers or contact us.

ATTEND THESE CLASSES, IF YOU:
✓ Are familiar with: Setenta, Sombrero, Vacilala, and other basic combinations (particularly for leaders).
✓ Have no problems with correct timing and leading/following basics when dancing.
✓ Salsa dancing experience: min. 4 months, ideally 6 to 12 months. You have completed at least one level 2 course, and/or dance regularly at social parties.

IN THESE CLASSES YOU WILL LEARN:
✧ More advanced combinations and footwork.
✧ How to create a good connection with a partner.
✧ How to add styling and shines to help you becoming more confident on the social dance floor.

HOW LONG SHOULD I STAY IN THIS LEVEL?
We recommend taking level 3 more than once (most of the combinations/footwork change every season). Many dancers can be in this course for 6 months while improving. Don’t move to level 4 unless you really are ready for it, since it is a more challenging class. If you are unsure, ask your teachers or contact us.

ATTEND THESE CLASSES, IF YOU:
✓ Can lead/follow all kinds of combinations and turns with a nice flow, already use footwork and styling and feel confident and relaxed when dancing.
✓ Salsa dancing experience: 1 year or more. You have completed at least one ( level 3 course, and dance regularly at social parties.

IN THESE CLASSES YOU WILL LEARN:
✧ Complex combinations and footwork with musicality.
✧ Dancing to higher-tempo music.
✧ Challenging turns and more advanced partnering techniques.

HOW LONG SHOULD I STAY IN THIS LEVEL?
Most social dancers will be challenged in this class and can attend it for many seasons with lots of benefits while still improving. If you need more, consider joining challenging solo classes or even a performance team!

If you are ready for a challenge and want to work on a higher tempo and more complex steps and figures, this is the class for you!
Note: we are screening the participants in this group to make sure to have a high level in the group; please contact us before registering.

ATTEND THESE CLASSES, IF YOU:
✓ Can lead/follow all kinds of combinations in Cuban Salsa or L.A. style with a nice flow, already use footwork and styling and feel confident and relaxed when you dance.
✓ Are ready to be challenged, and want to work on better technique, musicality and speed.
✓ Salsa dancing experience: 1-2 years or more. You have to have participated in our level 4 for 2-3 seasons, and ideally have tried other styles besides Cuban. We expect you to dance on a high level and to have very clean basics.

IN THESE CLASSES YOU WILL LEARN:
✧ To deal with longer and more complex challenges, both in solo and partnerwork, and to follow/lead with lightness and poise in any situation.
✧ How to combine the various rhythms and styles into a unique fusion of Contratiempo, L.A. style, Cuban Salsa, Rumba and more.
✧ New ways to move your body, express yourself and interpret the music, both in solo and partnerwork.

ATTEND THESE CLASSES, IF YOU:
✓ Are dancing Cuban Salsa on a good level and want to get challenged with new styles, or already have some experience with L.A. style/Cross-body Salsa.
✓ Want to try something new, and understand the differences between Cuban and L.A. style. If you already dance L.A., here you can get new inspiration and clean up your techniques.
✓ Salsa dancing experience: 1 year or more (if you dance cuban salsa). 6 months or more (If you dance L.A. style). Perfect for you, who is dancing in our salsa level 4 or 5!

IN THESE CLASSES YOU WILL LEARN:
✧ Musical interpretation, in soft and elegant variations of L.A. style turn patterns.
✧ Classic L.A. style combos and styling, focused on smooth execution and good leads/follows.
✧ How to create a great connection with a partner.

ATTEND THESE CLASSES, IF YOU:
✓ Want to learn how to style and make your dancing look elegant and feminine.
✓ Are not too comfortable with styling/footwork yet, and are looking to improve.
✓ Salsa dancing experience: from 6/9 months and up. You have completed at least one level 2 course, and/or dance regularly at social parties.

IN THESE CLASSES YOU WILL LEARN:
✧ Essential body movement, arm styling and how to move correctly in your salsa dancing.
✧ Improve your general flexibility and balance.
✧ Fundamental footwork and fun steps, turns and ladies’ styling.

ATTEND THESE CLASSES, IF YOU:
✓ Want to learn how to use your body when you dance, and develop a better balance and control of your feet.
✓ Are looking to understand how to use the music to your advantage when you dance, and have fun while doing it!
✓ Salsa dancing experience: from 6/9 months and up. You have a basic knowledge of salsa dancing and timing.

IN THESE CLASSES YOU WILL LEARN:
✧ Body movement techniques and footwork sequences, with both basics and more challenging elements.
✧ Get in the spotlight with fun exercises to challenge your abilities.
✧ Musicality and how to adapt your dancing to the music.

In this course you will learn how to improve your turns, balance, body control, footwork and everything which makes salsa more juicy, with a twist of Reggaeton and urban moves! The tempo will be relatively slow, with a lot of time to train without having to think about a partner. Recommended for everyone who is dancing in level 2 and above!

ATTEND THESE CLASSES, IF YOU:
✓ Want to learn how to use your body when you dance, and develop a better balance and control of your feet.
✓ Are looking to understand how to coordinate your body better and gain confidence.
✓ Salsa dancing experience: from 4 months and up. You have a basic knowledge of salsa dancing and timing.

IN THESE CLASSES YOU WILL LEARN:
✧ Essential body movement (hips, upper body, weight distribution, spotting) and reggaetón basics for salsa dancers.
✧ Become comfortable in solo dancing, and how to free your mind from judgement so you can focus on enjoying!
✧ Footwork variations and the most used steps in solo and partnerwork.
