Video courses – how do they work?

Each salsa video lesson features two sections: footwork (steps) and partnerwork. First observe the moves you are going to learn, and then the instructors will break down and explain the techniques slowly so you can learn how to execute them.

Choose the module that fits you best and start learning! Remember to take your time to learn and practice the moves to gain confidence before moving on to the next lesson, since the classes are progressive. You’ll also receive a link to a playlist with easy music for practice after signing up.

Meet your instructors

“We believe that everyone can dance, and that we all should do more of it because it’s so much fun!” – Dennis & Ieva

We know some people can’t commit to weekly group classes, so we decided to create a series of courses that everyone can enjoy from home, anytime! Our goal is not only to teach you how to dance, but also to help you achieving your goals and make you a part of our fantastic dance community.

Dennis Bertolazza is the founder and owner of Copenhagen Salsa Academy, and one of the most popular salsa instructors and choreographers in Copenhagen. He was born and raised in Italy with a mixed danish/italian background, and has taught salsa to hundreds of students since 2012. Note to self: he might be a bit nerdy at times but it’s all passion!

Ieva Utakyte started dancing in 2009, and has since been part of multiple Salsa Ladies Performance teams, travelled abroad for festivals and classes, and has broad knowledge of all the styles of salsa. Also, she is the mastermind behind all the CSA events and parties.

F.A.Q. – Frequently Asked Questions

What will I need to watch the videos of the lessons?
To watch the videos, you will need an internet connection to download the files and a video player. You can watch the videos on any of your devices, including laptops, tablets and mobile phones.

How long does it take to complete a course?
The time needed to finish one class and learn the moves properly is very individual, depending on previous experience, how much you will practice and other factors. We estimate somewhere between 30 minutes and 1.5 hours per class, and there are 5 classes of approx. 20-25 min. in each module.

Will I need to purchase anything else once I buy the course?
Of course not. All the material you need is already included in the price of the course. If you want to go deeper into dancing, we recommend checking private classes with us or coming to a social dancing event. Feel free to contact us for more information.

What should I wear?
We recommend comfortable shoes, with a somewhat slippery sole to be able to spin and slide without damaging your knees. You can always upgrade to proper dance shoes, of course. As for clothes, anything comfy works: you will move and sweat, so take that into account.

Are the lessons inside the course pre-recorded?
All the lessons are pre-recorded, so you can start the classes anytime and progress at your own pace. There is no need to show up at a specific time, just grab the videos and get started whenever you want.

The course fee is non-refundable, once your payment is processed. Reselling and distribution is not permitted: the course is for personal and non-commercial use only.
