Terms and Conditions
§ 1 – Registration
All registrations are binding, and classes are purchased or booked on the website copenhagensalsaacademy.dk. Registrations for all classes, workshops and private lessons at Copenhagen Salsa Academy are personal and cannot be shared with or transferred to anyone else. You are responsible for ensuring that the information you enter is correct.
Specifically regarding VAT: When you select the price with or without VAT at booking, you also declare in good faith that you have given your actual age as at the date of purchase. CSA reserves the right to ask you to present valid ID at the start of the course, and to charge the VAT difference if necessary.
To guarantee the best possible learning experience, Copenhagen Salsa Academy reserves the right to cancel or change your registration if there is no space on the class, or if it is judged that your dance level does not match that of the class.
§ 2 – Receipt and payment
After you have registered online you will receive a receipt by email (if you do not receive it, it may be in your spam folder). The receipt is the confirmation of your registration, so you need do nothing further unless specified at the time of purchase.
§ 3 – Validity
All registrations are valid only for the period in which the course runs, or for the period stated in the description at the time of purchase. Registrations are personal and cannot be transferred.
§ 4 – Right of withdrawal and cancellation
Once payment has been completed, the amount can only be refunded up to 7 days after the date of purchase (and never later than 24 hours before the start time of the class, course or event). After that a refund is not possible. You can request a refund by contacting us in writing. (Please note: the refund policy does not apply to CSA’s video courses sold online. CSA does not issue refunds for video courses once payment has been processed. See more in § 10.)
If for any reason you are unable to attend the classes you have paid for, you may take a place on a class in the following season. This does not, however, apply to individual missed classes (you cannot receive “credit” towards the next season for the sessions you cancel, unless you skip the whole season), nor to one-off events and workshops.
§ 5 – Changes to the teaching schedule
Copenhagen Salsa Academy reserves the right:
- … to move classes to another time and place if necessary (due to illness or other compelling reasons).
- … to bring in substitute teachers in the event of illness, travel or similar.
- … to merge classes of roughly the same level (where a class has fewer than 10 participants).
§ 6 – Private lessons
The time and place of private lessons are agreed in writing with your teacher. Private lessons can be rebooked up to 24 hours before they take place. No replacement lessons are given and no refund is made if you miss the rebooking deadline. If you do not attend, you will be charged the full amount.
§ 7 – Liability
Customers are themselves responsible for being in a state of health that permits participation in dance classes. Copenhagen Salsa Academy accepts no responsibility for personal injury resulting from accidents during class time.
§ 8 – Privacy policy
What data does CSA collect about you? When you register for a class or workshop, or sign up for our newsletter, we collect your name, telephone number and email address. Your information is not passed on to third parties.
How do we use your data? We use data about you to create a profile (only when booking a membership), to give you targeted marketing, to ensure your purchases are completed correctly, to contact you in the event of changes to the events you are registered for, and to improve our website. You can change or delete your data held by CSA at any time, although data relating to invoicing will remain stored in our system. You can have your data deleted or withdraw your consent by contacting CSA in writing at: info@copenhagensalsaacademy.dk.
How long do we keep data? We keep your data until you ask for it to be changed or deleted, or wish to withdraw your consent – or until 10 years after your last activity.
Changes: Our privacy policy may change, but can always be viewed on our website. If we change our privacy policy and it affects the processing of data about you, we will inform you.
Contact and questions: If you have questions about our privacy policy, you can contact us by email at: info@copenhagensalsaacademy.dk.
§ 9 – Use of photos and videos online
You hereby give your permission for Copenhagen Salsa Academy to take candid photographs and videos in and of the classes in which you take part, and for these to be published on the internet, for example on social media or the website. Photos and videos taken by CSA are protected by copyright. Photos and videos taken in connection with CSA’s classes and events are for personal use only and may not be published or shared online.
§ 10 – Online video courses
The purchase of an online video course is non-refundable once the purchase is complete. The customer has 1 month from the date of purchase to retrieve the downloadable video files. After that, a new purchase is required to regain access to the download link.
Unauthorised copying, distribution or display may result in civil liability. All video courses are for personal, non-commercial use only.
§ 11 – Specifically for teen and children’s classes
- Registration for our teen and children’s classes must be made by an adult over 18. As the adult, you are responsible for the registered child before, during and after the dance class.
- It is the adult’s contact details that must be entered at registration, and you as parent or adult are responsible at all times for informing us if those contact details change during the season.
- Students are not covered by insurance through Copenhagen Salsa Academy on the course. It is therefore the parents’ own responsibility to hold accident insurance for their child.
- For teen classes: out of consideration for the dynamic of the group and the children’s concentration, parents and adults do not come into the studio during the class. Parents and adults are very welcome to wait in our “lounge” while the students dance.
- When the class ends, you as parent or adult are responsible for the student – whether the child is being collected or walking home alone.
- We are delighted that you have enrolled your child at our dance school, and we promise to do our very best to give your child a good experience, with community, fun and room for difference at its heart. To make that possible, our dance teachers have a background in dance as well as experience with the relevant age group. Both quality and safety matter a great deal to us.
Code of conduct
At CSA we want to provide safe, fun and rewarding classes for all our students. We believe that good ethics, common sense and respect are fundamental to creating a good dance environment, and should also be qualities that every dancer has. In order to offer a safe and uplifting setting in class, we ask teachers and students to follow CSA’s code of conduct. Creating a positive experience for everyone takes a shared effort!
